The pharmacy first service launched by the NHS allows you to access advice and treatments for sevem minor conditions through your pharmacy. The expert pharmacists at Cohens Chemist are clinically trained to provide these treatments:
Sinusitis (sinus infection)
Sinusitis is swelling of the sinuses, usually caused by an infection. It’s common and usually clears up on its own within 2 to 3 weeks. But medicines can help if it’s taking a long time to go away.
Sore Throat
Sore throats are very common and usually nothing to worry about. They normally get better by themselves within a week.
Ear infections
Ear infections are very common, particularly in children. You do not always need to see a GP for an ear infection as they often get better on their own within 3 days.
Infected Insect Bites and Stings
Insect bites or stings are not usually serious and get better in a few days. But sometimes they can become infected or cause a serious allergic reaction.
Impetigo
Impetigo is a skin infection that’s very contagious but not usually serious. It often gets better in 7 to 10 days if you get treatment. Anyone can get it, but it’s very common in young children.
Shingles
Shingles is an infection that causes a painful rash.
UTI Treatment
Urinary tract infections (UTIs) affect your urinary tract, including your bladder (cystitis), urethra (urethritis) or kidneys (kidney infection). UTIs may be treated with antibiotics, but they’re not always needed.
