EHC and sexual health

EHC is commonly known as the ‘morning-after pill’. If you’ve had unprotected sex, taking the morning-after pill within a few days can help to prevent pregnancy. The pill can also be effective if you have used contraception but, for example, have forgotten to take your usual contraceptive pills or the condom split during sex.

If you need EHC* or would like to talk to someone in confidence about any sexual health concerns, please visit your local Cohens Chemist.

Some of our branches are able to undertake a confidential consultation and provide the morning after pill free of charge on the NHS funded Emergency contraception service thereby saving you time, money and reducing the need to visit the GP. Most women under the age of 24 will qualify for this free service, but in some areas the NHS has set a different age restrictions – please speak to your local pharmacist for more details**

*This is a private service and charges may apply. You will be required to answer some questions about your health and other medical conditions before receiving any treatment.
